The Malatou (also called the bucket link bracket) connects the end of the excavator arm to the bucket. It contains a bushing and pin, fixed to both the arm and bucket to allow flexible relative movement.
The bushing and pin joint requires daily greasing. Insufficient greasing causes heavy friction under load, increasing clearance and leading to loose or misaligned buckets.
